| What you do | What is deleted | When |
|---|---|---|
| Remove Gramdesk in Instagram's settings | The access tokens. The account is disconnected: syncing, publishing and incoming updates stop. Its history stays until you ask for deletion or disconnect it in the console | at once |
| Ask for your data to be deleted through Instagram | Everything we hold from that Instagram account, in every workspace where it is connected (the list in § 2) | at once; you get a status code |
| Disconnect the account in the console | The same data, in that workspace only. This cannot be undone | at once |
| Delete your Gramdesk account in the console | Your account and the workspaces you own, with all their data and files (§ 3) | within 30 days; you get a status code |
| Write to us | Whatever you ask for, within the law | within 30 days |
- In the Instagram app, open your profile, then Settings and activity.
- Open Website permissions → Apps and websites.
- Find Gramdesk under Active and choose Remove.
Removing the app tells us at once: we delete the account's access tokens and disconnect it, so Gramdesk stops syncing, publishing and receiving updates for it. The history already in Gramdesk stays until you ask for deletion or disconnect the account in the console. Menu names can differ slightly between versions of the Instagram app.
Instagram may also let you ask the app to delete your data. When Instagram forwards that request, we handle it straight away and permanently delete, in every workspace where that Instagram account is connected:
- the access token and the account record;
- Direct conversations and messages, including AI replies, the notes on them and escalations;
- comments;
- all posts — published, synced, drafts and scheduled — and the files uploaded for them;
- follower statistics and the questions found in its messages;
- contacts created from its Direct messages, with their pipeline history;
- AI analyses of the account in its current workspace.
Instagram then shows you a confirmation code with a link to its status page (§ 5).
- Disconnect an Instagram account: Settings → Instagram accounts → Disconnect. The token and the data imported into this workspace — the list in § 2, including drafts and scheduled posts — are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone; if you connect the account again, its data is imported from scratch.
- Delete your account: Settings → Security → Delete account. Your account is locked at once and you get a status code. We complete the deletion within 30 days; until then you can cancel it in the same place. Deletion is not possible while an invoice is unpaid. It deletes your name, email address, phone number and sign-in (including your Google Firebase login); the workspaces you own, with everything in them and every file uploaded to them; and your membership of other workspaces — what you did there stays in those workspaces, without your name.
If you cannot use the console, write to support@gramdesk.io from the email address on your account, with the subject Data deletion, and say what you want deleted. We answer within 30 days. You can also ask for a copy of your data first; we send it as a JSON file.
Every deletion request gets a confirmation code. Its status is shown at
https://gramdesk.io/legal/data-deletion-status/<code>; the link is given to you in
the console, or by Instagram for a request made there. The page shows only the code, the status and
when it was requested and completed — for a request made through Instagram, also how many records were
deleted — and no personal data. It stays available for at least 30 days after the request.
- Posts and comments on Instagram itself — manage them in Instagram.
- Invoices and payment transactions, which accounting law requires us to keep. After your account is deleted they keep only amounts, dates and numbers, and are no longer linked to you; stored invoice PDFs are deleted.
- What you did in other people's workspaces, which stays there without your name.
- The confirmation code and status of a deletion request (§ 5), for at least 30 days, so its status page keeps working.
- Copies in database backups, which are overwritten within 7 days, and logs, deleted after 30 days.
Deleted data cannot be recovered. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
If you wrote to a business on Instagram and it uses Gramdesk, that business controls your messages. Ask it to delete them; it can do so in Gramdesk. You can also write to support@gramdesk.io with your Instagram username and the business's account, and we will pass your request on and help the business carry it out.
